Hi My Name Is Winston; Well actually
my registered name is Sir Winston Scotty. I
originally came from Newport Beach....hence
the 'Sir' was appropriate.....teehee. I am an
active neutered, male Westie. I have lived my
entire life in a very loving, nurturing home.
It saddens my owner who has severe neuroapathy,
loss of sensation and motor function in her
hands, because she can no longer care for me
properly. You see, I was recently diagnosed
with Diabetes and I need two insulin shots per
day. It's really no big deal, unless you can't
use your hands. Also my owner can't give me
my daily drops for dry eye. Just two drops one
time daily but my Mom just can't do this anymore......I
am sad and she is too. She feels like she has
failed me.
I was the picture of good health prior to being
diagnosed with Diabetes. I am really doing fine,
with the shots and still have that Westie spunk.
I just love to go for walks and would enjoy
a doggie door and yard of my own. I have always
been a 'mostly' indoor doggie, who is very loving,
affectionate and will follow you around all
day long, unless of course you pick me up and
put me on your lap....what a good idea glad
you thought of it! Gosh I only weigh 19.5 lbs.
I like children, my previous owner had four
grandkids. They used to pet me and scratch my
tummy.....I liked that.
I am up up to date with all my shots (Rabies,
DHPP, Corona and Bordetella). I am housetrained,
leash trained and doggie bed knowledgeable.....ha,
ha. And my owner recently had me groomed so
I look handsome. So....all I really need now
is that special home where I can give all my
love to my new 'forever' family. I want to live
out my life with the same love that I knew in
my previous home. I will give you love forever
if you will make me part of your loving home
and family. How about it, huh?.
Hi Westie Rescue of CA and Wonderful Volunteers,
I just wanted to say thank you so much for
your help in trying to find a home for Winston.
I just wanted to give you an update and let
you know that he is doing fine. His sugar
is pretty much under control (although the last
vet visit a couple of weeks ago was a little
high). He's gained back his weight and
is now up to about 22.5 pounds and the dry eye
is gone. I got the opportunity to move
and live in a house, so now he has a wonderful
yard! And he had lost a lot of hair because
Mom couldn't care for him properly. But
with proper medication, diet and exercise it's
now growing back so he looks a million times
better.
I just wanted to say thank you. It was
very reassuring to know that if I couldn't take
Winston (which I thought was the case), there
was an organization there who would love
and nurture him and try to find him a good home.
Winston thanks you, too!!
