September 2006.....update

Hi everyone, yes, I was adopted by my new loving Dad, Phil. And things could not be better! I am doing great, have a very large back yard to play, run, hunt, explore and of course dig,dig and dig. Mainly that is so I can have a cool place to relax after a nice bath and blow dry. Hm mm? Since I was so unkempt looking at the shelter (see photo) and even before that too, I really love being groomed and brushed.....well maybe... that is! Did I mention my Dad Phil, owns a beautiful historical house, with a prize winning rose garden, oh yeah, we are currently under historical renovation? I get lots of interaction with all the tradesmen and historical consultants who come here to see me. Teehee! Yep, Dad's business assistant, Randy thinks I am the best (boy I have him fooled) and oh so very clever! LOL.

Since I have a forever home now, my Dad and Randy think it is important to help other Westies In Need too. So, we volunteer with foster care of those rescues during their rehabilitation or let them hang out while waiting for their forever adoptive homes. Of course, I am in charge of showing the new 'fosters' the ropes. Ya, know important doggie stuff like, where the best position is to watch the workmen while still sunning yourself, where to bury bones, where the best advantage is to watch the stupid cat two doors down...stuff like that. I understand their situation all too well and get along great with the males and females we have fostered. Of course, that is after the 'alpha' pack leader is determined....sometimes it is not me and a couple of times it has been a female Westie! Shhhhh, but that's just a secret between you and me, okay? I know Daddy Phil loves me, as does Randy and this is now my forever home, so I am always willing to share my treats, toys and playtime with my new Westie friends. Dad, but mostly Randy has helped me be completely crate trained, so I don't have any more accident piddles. As you can see by one of the pictures, I enjoy the view from my favorite chair at the front window (watching those stupid cats, two doors down!). I bark a 'hello' to all that come by and wait there till everyone arrives back home. Life is very good.....from throw-away to throne. Who knew! Licks and wags, TOBY
