SHERMAN

Sherman's new parents were already WR of CA adopters; Minnie Me now called Winnie, December 2005. He gleefully joined Dad Jim, Mom Judy and his new Westie Sis, Winnie. Winnie is so tiny (13 lbs) she can ride on her special 'console seat' between Jim and Judy. They bought Sherman his own 'My Buddy Car Seat' too! He can travel in style and comfort.

Original Story Below

Hi Westie Lovers.....MY NAME IS "Sherman".....

Bark, woof or whatever....boy am I glad I was relinquished to these kind folks! I have had a on-going 'spa treatment' since the first of September. See I was in pretty bad condition when my owners finally decided to gave me up. I had major ear infections (could hardly hear), my eyes were swollen and had discharge as well.... I really didn't have any fur on my chest, belly, groin, inside front and back legs. And, even the fur on my back was pretty thin too from my rubbing underneath something scratching. I was admittedly pretty gross. If you can believe it, I had been banished to the back yard , left on my own for a pretty long while. See, they had a new baby and well you get the picture.

Once handed over to Westie Rescue of CA I was whisked to their Vet immediately. My great foster Mom got me medicated shampoo, my ears flushed out, all my overdue shots (Rabies-3 yr, DHPP, Bordetella), appropriate antibiotics and ear medication. And then she and I started on my daily bathing regime to clear up my skin. I didn't mind, I am very calm in the bath and would stand with the medicated shampoo all lathered up without a problem. She scrubbed me all over with the shampoo and a natural bristle brush. Said she was ex foliating my skin of the dead smelly skin cells. Pretty soon, after the daily medicated baths (3 weeks), taking my medication, eye drops and ear drops....my fur started to grow back. Viola!!! And now my fur (over two months) is doing great and I have lots of soft new pink healthy skin. Of course, my foster Mom says I was beautiful before.....but really folks.....I am really, really bone-a-fide cute now!

I am a very calm, totally house trained, leash and crate kinda of a guy (my foster Mum said that). I really like to travel in the car out of a crate cause I get car sick. So, my foster Mum owns a 'Buddy Car Seat', that I get to ride and lay down while I ride in the car. It is totally safe, I wear a harness and it is connected to the seat belt which keeps the over sized car seat secure. I like that much better. I like a seat with a view!

Okay en ought about me.....what about you? Am I it? Huh? Hope so, cause I would like to get back to my own home, sunning daily in my own yard and having my tummy scratched by my own folks

........Please adopt me, SHERMAN ........
