I came in with a female called VANNA. Ya gotta love it!!!
Guess which game show our previous owners liked? Just a little background story, you would say I was loved, but couldn't stay with Dad any longer cause Mom died unexpectedly. Dad felt he could not care for me after Mom passed, he had to leave me along with no outside access for too long daily. So the kind folks here at
Westie Rescue of CA.... put together a great Westie transport team to get me and Vanna down to Southern California to a foster family.
Certainly thank all the volunteers who made up the WESTIE Transport Team on this urgent release situation. Didn't mind transferring a total of five times during the very long transport day. Kinda liked the excitement and everyone was so nice. Actually, took 'cat naps' while in the car. Loved riding in the car.
Now, here at my foster Mom's I have a 'Lookout Seat' that I am strapped into while in the car. She takes me with her on errands, one day actually went into a store that had lots of dog treats and toys...something called pet store. I liked that place!!! In my 'Lookout Seat', I can see out the car window or lay down.
I got an extreme Westie grooming make-over.....and viola pretty boy!
I am an AKC Registered (my owner is looking for registration), altered male Westie. My previous owners didn't keep up with my medical care in recent years, but Westie Rescue of CA got all my shots renewed (Rabies-3yr, DHLPP, Bordetella, Corona), got a heartworm test (neg), now on Frontline-Plus monthly too.
I am crate trained, like sleeping in either my individual crate or if you will lift me up...on your bed. I walk great on a leash, usually trying to be the first one in lead. I walk happily along, tail up and kinda "strutting my stuff (my foster Mom said to say that). I take 2-3 long walks daily with the female Westies here. I probably would like to be the only male in the forever home. See, I kinda am partial to girls!
I like eating the Westie Diet (see our website for recipe)m I am house trained and can use the doggie door here at my foster house. I have good skin and fur and actually I like being brushed. I am a bit of a 'ham-bone' cause I need to be near you, always willing to roll over for tummy rubs and will 'bark with delight' at my dinner bowl or when I am happy.
My foster Mom makes me stop barking sometimes, I am good about stopping. I would like a fenced yard to romp and play. I chase cats cause it is fun! Guess that isn't a good thing however! I like all the toys here, didn't come with any. I sleep upside down and have been heard to snore....just a little!
My only bad trait is I do not like to share my food bowl or treats and will growl at other dogs trying to get them. So, in my new forever home, I should be fed in my crate and no treats 'just lying around'.
So, if you are interested, complete an application and get it in right away.
