Here's me and my adoptive Dad's: Buzz, with my new Soft Coated Wheaten Sister Sally (age 12) and Jim holding me!
Can not wait to get to my new home.

Original Story Below

Hi Westie Adoptive Hopefuls.....My Name Is .....MOLLY

I was relinquished by my loving owner because she could no longer care for me. She had become disabled, divorced and we had to move from my first dog friendly home to a Small apartment. It was sad...sigh.....see she has owned me since I was a very small 6 week old puppy. I have been a loved and cherished family member for all these years. But now, my Mom didn't walk so good, so I wasn't getting my play time, daily walks or attention like before. My big backyard, was gone so I had to be walked and let out regularly. That was a problem. I was really not doing well in this situation. Thankfully, she realized that this was not the best situation and contacted Westie Rescue of CA (volunteers in Nevada). Well I was picked up by some fine folks and brought back to my foster Mom's here in So. California......Yahoo!!!! I have other Westies here too who are waiting for their forever home, I now have regular daily walks three or four times per day and can romp and play with all the Westies here or my Foster Mom or Pop. When my foster Mom picked me up in Nevada, they told her I didn't travel in the car well. But ya know, she knew I could be a 'star' traveler, coming from Las Vegas and all! She brought a crate with her and put my favorite toy in it....geez....it was perfect! A couple of whines, but that didn't stir my Foster Mum to take me out of the crate. Darn....that didn't work! So, I guess she knew Terriers and how they should travel, so I just settled down and went to sleep. My Foster Mom said; "I was a perfect little traveler". Tada.

Here, at my Foster Mom and Pop's, I have my very own crate too that I sleep in and I get fed dinner in too. They are changing me over to this delicious meal called The Westie Diet (go onto the website)....Yumm!. I like it here, lots of stimulation, exercise, play and special tummy rub time. But, my Foster Mom noticed, I hadn't been outside very often or walked regularly my toenails had to have a major trim. Yikes, they cut more than 1/4 inch off each nail. My Foster Mom was mumbling something about a person named 'Elvira'....huh, don't know her but guess her nails are long too!

I now know my routine; sleep in my own crate, eat my own dinner there too and am on a walking/exercise schedule to toughen up my feet pads. I am getting a 'Westie-Do' (that means a hair cut/grooming), that way I can show my assets. My Foster Mom says I am a very tiny little female, altered, Westie, maybe 14-16 pounds, good thick coat (but bad haircut). Okay, guess we have all been there....huh?

I am up to date with my shots (Rabies-3 yr, DHLPP, Bordetella), altered, no skin problems (started Frontline-Plus), just need my toenails cut each week until the 'quick' starts to recede. And, daily walking on sidewalks to help with that. I am learning a new thing......this cool doggy door lets me go outside all by myself. Actually the other Westies here, have shown me how to use it. I feel so 'empowered'.....don't ya know girlfriend! I am getting used to riding in the car, cause I get to to to the park daily to run and play. To get to the park, I have to ride in the car (that's okay by me!!!) I have other Westie friends at my Foster Mom and Pops who get to go to the park too. We have such a good time. They have a big basket of toys, I like playing with the balls and chasing them. I am a happy little female, altered, AKC Registered purebred Westie. I really deserve a new loving home, so I can once again play in my own yard. I love kids of any age, I am very gentle. I really want my own yard again, with a doggy door would be great. But I like being walked once again on a regular basis. I would like my forever owner to be active to walk me daily and play fetch too. Are you that new forever owner????? Put that application in please. I like it here, but I want my own forever family......are you it? Just sign me.......wanna be with you! Love and Licks......MOLLY
