MILES (now Giles)

Hi Folks, This is my new Forever Family, my Mom Denise and my Dad the Reverend Peter, but I just call him Poppa. Mom and Poppa are taking me to Bible Study, not sure what that is but I love to get out and see new things. They say I'm a character, I'm not too sure what that is either, but they laugh at me so I guess it's a good thing.

My new home is in Arizona. I've got a new sister (Agatha), I'm a lot faster than her but she's fun to play with anyway. I've got good food and a loving family, what more could a guy ask for.

Thanks Westie Rescue for helping me find my Forever Home.

Giles......

Original Story Below

Hello Westie Lovers.....I am MILES...

I am a cute, beautiful, altered male Westie. See, my original owner gave me up because she did not have time for me (sigh) or actually the Terrier knowledge of ownership. She worked 9-10 hours daily, and I was left alone all day in the kitchen area until she came home. I then got to explore the back yard a little before bedtime. Boy was I missing out on stuff like; walks on a leash, car rides, play-dates at the park, playing with toys. Ya know general Doggie Ownership #101.

When I came to Westie Rescue of CA I was covered with fleas and had itched a huge bald patch on my back hind area. Owner thought I had allergies....NOT!!!!! Immediately I received a medicated bath, flea protection and an appropriate grooming first thing at my new foster Moms. She didn't cut me ANY slack!

My birthday is 06/13/2004, I am altered, housetrained, can use a doggie door and my diet is being changed to the appropriate Westie Diet (see website for recipe). I now walk on a leash without tangling my foster Pop. I am currently hanging out with my foster Westie mates who are both male and female. I kinda ignored them (at first) because I never was around any other dogs before. Mostly a homebody guess you'd say. I came with only one toy, so I had to learn how to chase balls and play 'nicely' with toys. I thought they should be killed - it's a 'rat hunting' thing for us Terr-iors!

I have all my shots (Rabies-1 yr, DHLPP, Bordetella, Corona), on Frontline-Plus monthly, and have a microchip. I am working on my 'food' behavior, I always think it is my last meal. But am getting better. My foster Mom is very patient with me. I like her and give her my best kisses. Ya know, nobody ever trained or worked with me from when I was a little squirt. I am receiving medicated baths 2-3 times weekly, but that is just until the Westie Diet kicks in and my fur grows back. I need a positively NO FLEAS home. I am a great explorer, like my family, like tummy rubs, am crate trained (now), can use the doggie door, and generally am a happy camper but am not really good around children under 10 years of age.

Say, could you be my calm, caring, willing to teach me basic obedience commands forever home? Gosh, I hope so, cause I kinda like being the Prince around my own digs (nope I really don't to that)!
If you think you are, submit that application right away.
My foster Mom and Pop say I can stay here a little longer...
but I want to go to my new Forever Home soon.

Licks and Wags, MILES.......
