Halloween 2007 Pansy and 'Good Witch' costumed Mom Tracy
NOVEMBER 2007
FROM PANSY:
I can't believe what my Mom did! After all the times she has shown me the pretty (and handsome!) Westie pictures on the Westie Rescue page, she hadn't figured out she could "click" on my name and 'viola' MY adoption photo came up. Oh boy, now she can share all kinds of stories about me. That's what I said to my best friend Sager (she's a Westie too), "Go figure-our Mom's are always the last to get it!"
I remember a couple of months ago, Mom wanted to post something about me (see, she really loves me and thinks I'm cute--but so does everyone else!), she was really frustrated she could not do it. Anyway, I just wanted to tell everyone some great pictures are coming and also a whole bunch of stories.
Just a quick update-I LOVE my new home, as much as my Mom loves me. I got attached to her real quick, but it took awhile to feel comfortable enough to go out of the house and yard. Mom would garden and if she was in the front yard, I would just stay by the gate and watch. Little by little I came out farther. Now Mom has to watch me--cause I go on the neighbor's porch and am much more adventurous. Mom keeps a careful eye on me and I on her because I do not like to be too far from her.
I did not like walks at first--the cars and trucks scared me, even though I live in a small neighborhood. That's because I was on the run for awhile and even had to cross a freeway or two before I was rescued by Westie Rescue of CA. Then on one of my walks, I met "Sugar". She lives about a block away and is another girl Westie--(I told you she is my best friend, didn't I?). When Sugar, her mom, me and my mom go for a walk, I don't even notice the cars. I sniff, run and play, now I even beg Mom for a walk as soon as she wakes up.
I've filled out and my fur is growing back finally. The vet said; "in great shape". I don't bark and mom is a little worried.
Tomorrow Mom will send some great pictures!

Original Story Below
Hi Everybody......My New Name Is....LIL MAE...
I am new into this fine organization's program. I was pulled from a shelter by another rescue group, who didn't really know about the 'Terr-ior-tude' of Westies. So, they contacted these people who are specialist's in Westies. Boy, am I glad too!
I was a stray picked up by the doggie police. I was not wearing a collar, so I did not have an ID Tag nor microchip.....shoot. So, I sat in the shelter for my Mom and Pop's to come bail me out. Huh, nobody came.
Lots of people looked; said things like "Oh, my gosh you poor thing!" Well, I guess is I did look pretty sad....matted to the skin, dirty, ticks, fleas....okay so I was pitiful!
I have had all my shots (Rabies-1 yr, DHLPP and Bordetella). I made a visit to the groomers and was shaved down due to the mess. They said something like.....'Start Overs'. Huh, wonder what that means? Oh, well, I do not have fleas any longer and my fur will grow back.
I am a pretty little girl really.
I have just gotten to my foster Mum's house. She has three other Westies here (2 males and 1 female). I am not allowed to play with them yet. I will get a slow introduction, so everybody will get along. As soon as there is more to report my foster Mum says she will report it. So, until then let me get settled, on a schedule and start The Westie Diet (recipe on the Westie Rescue website below) then will have more to report.
Until then.....sign me LIL MAE.
