Hamlet

HAMLET (named by one of our Las Vegas volunteers) was a dear sweet stray found wandering in the vast desert of Las Vegas, NV.

He was pulled from the shelter, altered, given medical attention
and shots, groomed and then transported to a California foster home
and ultimately his 'forever home'.

He was lovingly cared for by several of our dedicated volunteers, two rescue friendly Veterinarians and was given the best care available. His 'forever' home was not meant to be, unfortunately he was diagnosed with the symptoms of Distemper.

When he began exhibiting signs of health issues at one of our foster volunteer's, he was transferred into the care of another VERY DEDICATED volunteer who actually set up a quarantine hospital area in her personal home to provide round the clock care, fluid hydration and antibiotics.

Because Distemper can not be accurately diagnosed until death, he was treated for medically for a wide spectrum of illnesses. He actually was hand fed by our foster volunteer every 4 hours.

Distemper is contagious, so surgical attire was worn every time our volunteer entered the quarantined area. Unfortunately, even with this most dedicated care, we were unable to prevent his journey to The Rainbow Bridge.

His free spirit touched many while in the care of Westie Rescue of CA. His little sole is at peace now. We are certain he is playing blissfully with his squeaky toy. Bless him and those who lovingly gave their time, energy and dedicated love. If you would like to make a contribution to help further our rescue efforts, please click our 'Donate' link.
