My name's Hamish...well, it first was another name, then Shane -- but my new family didn't think either were quite "Scottish" enough!. I'm almost 2 years old and was recently adopted by the Potter family! My previous family couldn't keep me, so I ended up in Westie Rescue of CA. Thankfully, my new mom had also recently notified Westie Rescue of CA that we were looking for a little Westie guy or gal to adopt. I was more than happy to oblige!
I love my new family SO MUCH! I just adore getting my tummy rubbed (it's a favorite activity), and I am always so excited when my Mom Karen or my big sister Courtney come home from work. My dad Brian and I love to walk around the state park near our house -- or just lounge on the couch watching westerns. I like movies almost as much as Dad does! I also enjoy playing "fetch" with myself -- I throw a toy or a biscuit up and away, and I run to get it back. Repeat as necessary! You should try it some time -- it's great exercise.
Everywhere I go, people seem to compliment me. I'm pretty handsome, if you haven't already noticed, and kids love me. I'm small and friendly, which helps. I'm also quite well-behaved. Both the vet and the groomer think I'm just the sweetest little guy. My family tells me often that they can't imagine life without me -- and that's just the way I like it. I've settled in and I'm here to stay!
