I was a dog that was claimed by So. CA animal control due to animal cruelty proceedings because of owner neglect. I was taken from my owner in June 2005 and have stayed either at the shelter or a shelter foster home while they worked at getting me well. Just so you know, my skin condition is totally reversible as well as my infected ear problem. The nice shelter people state my condition was caused solely from the terrible owners, who were sited and fined. Shame on them,, but I already feel better being kept clean, dry, being fed the proper food and having someone 'actually' care about me.
The nice folks at Westie Rescue of CA came to my rescue once they found out about me. Seems they are experts with skin conditions....and ya know I could tell that right away. I feel sure they will find me the very best loving, Terrier knowledgeable forever home. They promised and I feel certain they can deliver!
I am about 7 yrs old, altered, have had shots (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Corona), blood work, T4, and my coat is growing back beautifully. See what love can do? My foster Mom says I get along with other dogs, both male and female like to go for walks and ride in the car. I am housetrained, crate trained and can use a doggie door. Yep, I am one of those smart Westies...that's what my foster Mum says anyway. I just want a loving, stable, no small children (8yr or under) kinda homes. A fenced back yard would be great, I promise I will not dig up your Pansies. Okay, I kinda like cats...but would prefer more 'dog' friends...have to keep up my Terr-ior image, don't ya know!
Are you my caring forever home? Remember, you will need to give me a bath weekly with medicated shampoo, feed me the Westie Diet and give me exercise cause I was kinda out of shape. Think it was all those donuts the owners fed me! I'll wait for ya in the back yard....all ya have to do is just whistle! Wags and licks, FROSTY
As our rescue stories are available, we place them on PetFinder and www.WestieRescueCA.com, when photos are available they are also posted. We have a wonderful network of foster volunteers in California and affiliate volunteers working hard in other states for our organization. So, often times the stories and photos will follow after the initial post of a dog being available.
