My very special new MOM, Val and my Westie sister, Sophie (3.5 yrs). My new Mom was hand
picked by 'Westie Rescue' just for me cause she is in the medical field.
I just know I now have a great home!!
Original Story Below
Hi My Name is CHANCE.....
That's cause I popped out of a fruit orchard in a wooded secluded area on a remote back road. I am so glad to be given 'A Second CHANCE'.
Some kind and nice folks taking a car ride, happened upon me, scooped me up and immediately took me to their Veterinarian. I was almost dead, my feet were cut, swollen and my nails were about 1.5 inches long (I could hardly walk). I looked pretty bad, was emaciated from weeks of wandering, had burrs, ticks, fleas, and my fur was one big dirty matted mess
They could tell I had been left outside too long and had developed skin issues due to lack of care. The Vet said I would have been a goner very soon. I had existed on rotten fruit that had fallen to the ground, so my tummy was very upset and I had terrible diarrhea.
These nice folks tried to find my owners, placing fliers, newspaper advertisements, notifying the shelters, Vets, boarding kennels, groomers and doggie day care places Not one call regarding a little lost white doggie...sigh!
Well.....I guess I have that Terrier spirit...cause guess what.....I am just about back to my old self. I am getting better each day in my foster home.
I am taking heavy duty antibiotics and need my ears flushed out daily, but my fur has grown back beautiful and thick.
They think I am about 2-3 years old, now have my shots (DHLPP, Rabies-3 yr, Bordetella), am altered, on flea and heartworm meds. I sleep in my crate each night without a peep. I am learning house-manners at my foster house and how to use a doggie door to go outside. I like going on my long walks each day. It was obvious I was formerly an 'outside dog only' to my foster folks. They also noticed I didn't know much about how to walk on a leash, I am still getting tangled around lamp posts and bushes but I am trying. Sigh.....I have so much to learn, but I am up to the challenge. I get the feeling my foster Mom and Dad will not 'bend the rules', so I guess I will be a very good boy. I like riding in the car, in a crate. I go with my other foster Westie mates to the local park. We romp and play, I like that. I like playing with both male and female doggies, that are my size. I am friendly, curious, playful and like to play 'chase'. I am a little guy, currently weighing 16 pounds (solid muscle). I am learning Housetraining #101...seems my former owners must have missed that training class.
That's about it for now, more will be posted as my ears respond to the antibiotics and medication and I am ready for my forever home.
I really am thankful those kind people stopped and scooped me up.
Bless you!!!
Thanks CHANCE....
