Sad News

Westie Rescue CA received the news that one of our Foster Parents, Bob Salomon passed away late last year.

Bob was the loving father of 2 Westies he and his wife Annadean rescued, Bogie and Kacey. Although he didn't have alot of time with them, sadly, he was crazy about his babies. They have been a saving grace for Annadean during this incredibly sad time.

If you would like to send a memorial donation in the name of Bob Salomon please click the link below.

Original Story Below

Well folks I finally got my Forever parents, my Mom is called Annadeen and my Dad Robert. I also got a brand new sister Kacee. She is kind of cute (for a girl) but boys still rule.

We're very happy together and make a great looking family to boot.

Hopefully Mom and Dad will keep Westie Rescue CA updated with news about Me and an ocassional photo. Take care now Boggie.....

Not too many Pups have my looks and Smarts

HI Y'all...BOGGIE... is the name and snuggling is the game!

I also like to give ya kisses, if ya get too close I will sneak one in on ya! I am a young altered male Westie who's DOB is 08.30.2001. I am a real sweetheart, love to go on long walks, watch TV (Animal Planet pleeze!), sleep upside down, play with my squeaky toys or explore the back yard.
My original owners became too busy with their work schedule to have any time for me any longer, so thank goodness they relinquished me to
Westie Rescue of CA.

When I came to Westie rescue, I had some skin issues because I was being left home alone outside in the back yard. I always found things to do and bark at, but sometimes I got very lonely and would howl. But now that I am at my fostered Moms, we go on long walks, play fetch and tug-a-war, she reviews my Obedience Training (I have a graduation certificate) commands; sit, down, stay, quiet. I think she said something like I should be appropriately stimulated and active daily, that keeps me out of trouble.....grin. I like her, she gives me a treat if I do well. Mostly, I will do anything for a treat! I need to have a good medicated bath and blow dry by my new forever Mom and Dad regularly. I am really good and remain calm especially with the blow dryer noise. I get a good boy treat afterwords.

I am AKC registered, have a 3-generation pedigree certificate, graduated animal behavior and training class, had all shots (DHPP, Rabies-3 yr, Bordetella and Corona), have all previous medical paperwork, leash and crate trained, can use the doggy door here to go outside (which I like my independence), love going on walks, have a happy personality but am calm and I love riding in the car (other than going to the Vet....ick!).

Here at my foster Mom's, I can play with 'four pawed' Westie playmates that are male and females. I like them all, I give um sneak kisses too. Unfortunately, I am too inquisitive around cats, they run....and being a 'Terr-ior' and all.....I am obligated to chase them. My foster Mom, says I can't have one of my own, that I should stick to my same species as house-mates....darn.

Are you my forever home? Gosh, I hope so, I would like to find a forever home who knows terriers, has enough time for me, doesn't have small children (under 8 yrs) and will continue reinforcing house training, obedience training, must maintain year around flea treatment, has adequate fencing or will walk me twice daily. Also, must continue feeding the Westie Diet but most of all love me! Have you completed your application yet? Well what are you waiting for? Good Grief.....I am waiting for ya!! Licks, Wags and Smacks...Boggie
