Hello My Name Is Windy I am a cute, spayed, adult, female Westie. I came to Westie Rescue because my original owners thought it would be better for me to be placed with another family which understood my stubborn Westie temperament. I am a 'Westie Princess' and have pretty much gotten my own way most of my life. That of course isn't a problem for me.......but I guess it causes problems with the 'two legged' people in 'MY' house. Although I am a graduate of obedience and puppy kindergarten training, my owners had a hard time reinforcing that level of training. I can be excitable when a motor scooter, skateboarder, bicyclist goes past. If I am on a walk, I will 'heel and set' on command......if you are quick in giving those commands.

I am up to date with my shots, do not have skin problems, love to ride in the car, lounge on the bed (my owner's of course!!!) and take walks. I need to be placed in a home that has the time and discipline necessary to insure my adherence to obedience. I can bark (okay, I am a terrier you know) at trash trucks, loud noises and am not really fond of the Fourth of July activities. I also hate my front toenails to be cut! So the groomer needs to know that little detail.

The ideal home would be a calm retired couple, or single person (no small children) that has owned a terrier or better yet a Westie prior. A home that has patience in reinforcement of training and trust issues. They must be consistent and caring in their approach. Wendy does have a mind of her own, but will eventually do what you want her to do........just in 'Terr-ior Time' not necessarily your time schedule......don't ya just love them!!!!! Can I come sleep on your pillow????
