Well, 'Lil Mz No-Name showed up at a Westie owner's back door late one night. Their Westie, Mulligan, notified them of the late night "fur guest". Of course being the good Westie owners that they are, they brought the little girl to a volunteer with Westie Rescue of CA. After placing the appropriate newspaper notices, taking the dog to the Vet for micro-chip check and placing flyers in the surrounding areas, with no response......she was free to be placed 'officially' in Westie Rescue of CA.

So here is my story.......I am a tiny boned, spay, possibly 3.5 year old Westie female. I only weigh 13.7 lbs, who obviously hadn't been cared for properly in quite sometime. Westie Rescue took me to the Vet immediately, the Vet examined me and gave me appropriate shots; DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies (3 yr). I obviously had not been walked for a very long time, because I had 1 1/2 inch long nasty toenails on all four of my feet. My foster mom trimmed my toenails immediately and then the Vet trimmed them back further. He had to cauterized them because the quick had grown so long and the nails were now bleeding. Whew, I knew it was necessary......but I wasn't used to having so much 'foot attention'. The long nails were causing my feet to 'splay' and I couldn't walk very far. I had trouble standing or walking, for even short distances and/or walks. Well, after my visit to the Vet's, I was able to walk immediately for about 6 blocks. It felt good to be outside and enjoying the sunshine. I like to take sunbaths at my foster mom's home with the other Westies here. I like my foster mom, she is very gentle and caring. I was timid at first, but now I know she won't hurt me. She gave me a bath and tried to groom me so I would look like a Westie.......I think I heard her say......whew we have several months of fur growth to go!

My diet was changed immediately to the Westie Diet, so I developed diarrhea. That wasn't pleasant, but we worked through it. Now I am doing well, with the exercise and the routine schedule. I know when I am getting dinner and walked, etc. Life is good here, aaaaaahh so good. And, I like the Westie recipe divided in half; so I get 1/2 in the AM and 1/2 in the PM. My foster mom says because I am tiny, I don't eat all at once. But my foster mom says it needs to be nutritious......and NOT people food. I guess I begged when I first got here for 'their' food. She didn't give in......and eventually I ate only Westie Diet. It was either that or starve.

I need to be placed in a loving quiet reflective home, where I can sleep on a 'princess pillow' or possibly in your bed. No small children, possibly someone who owns a home based business and/or retired couple. I don't bark, am almost housetrained and am learning about the doggie door.......what an odd thing. It hits me in the face if I am following all the other Westies in the house outside.

I am looking for a safe home where I am truly loved and taken care of......where I can spend the 'forever years' in peace and enjoyment. Are you that home?
