A note from Carole after PD's adoption follows.

Hi All You PD Fans. Well, I can't believe it has already been several days now with our new boy! Like I said in my phone message, he has been such a hit and he has been EVERYWHERE with me! I took him to the nail (manicure) shop the other day and they all loved him there too. Not that I put any value in this stuff, but there was a woman there who claimed to be an animal psychic, and she was "talking" for him. She said lots of things about "his" thoughts. I just listened and smiled, especially when she said he really like having me as his mom and really loves his new food! So, Westie Diet is a big hit for P.D.!

We just love him so much. He is in his 'forever and ever" home now, and we are so grateful for him and Westie Rescue of CA. Today, I found a tick on his face! UGH! I treated him with "Frontline Plus" right after I brought him home and you had groomed him. So he had been treated for almost a week and I found this nasty bug on his muzzle! I will get his stool checked and maybe blood work too just to be on the safe side.

I will keep you updated on his new adventures. Maybe his prior family will be glad to hear, P.D. is doing so well, he surely misses his family, but he is not any less loved. He has a great life here. He is also learning to love horses too. Most mornings the boy doggies do a round robin racing around the stalls for the fun and exercise. Who can be the fastest.....watch out Doxies, here comes the Westie! So cool to watch, it really makes me laugh!

TERRIERS Rule, Doxies Drool!

I am a pretty special, 5 yr old, neutered, male Westie. I have come into Westie Rescue by way of my owner's military deployment. My recent owner had to leave very quickly due to a new assignment. The military base personnel assigned to help with the placement of animals owned by recently deployed, is virtually maxed out. My owner, opted to contact a Westie breed rescue organization that can immediately help in finding a 'forever' loving home for me. I like that option.

I am a pretty smart little fellow (well actually about 23 lbs) who is housetrained, leash trained....even with kids walking me. I love to go for rides in the car, I don't jump on the furniture, don't dig, don't bark a lot, I sleep in my very own doggie bed, I got along with another male (Cocker) in the family until he died.....now I only have the three kids to play with (10 yrs, 7 yrs and 3 yrs). I lived in military housing but I had a pretty big back yard. My house didn't have a doggie door, so I would whine at the back door when I needed to go out. I can remain in the house loose without having an accident for a long time, I just look out the window and watch for my owner.

Unfortunately, I don't like cats.....so I guess I won't put one on my Christmas List this year......that is what my Foster Mom says anyway (guess that includes a pet mouse too, huh?). I am up to date with all my shots (Rabies, Lime, DHPP, Bordetella) and have medical records to prove it....so there! The Westie Diet is a must to provide proper nutrition and coat care.

I need a stable, loving home which is active and can take me for walks daily. I like playing with toys, sunning myself and surveying my yard from a perch somewhere. I also like attention; a pat on the head, a tummy rub, some kind words or perhaps to ride in the car with you when you do your errands. Can you give me these things? Well then what are you waiting for.......complete that application so I can come home with you.
