Blake (now called Fred) with his new mom, Jean

Blake, now living the good life...

My Name is Blake. ...... I was adopted out of a shelter, because I kept getting out of my owner's backyard. And rather than fix the fence the owner surrendered me. I am a four (4) year old, neutered Westie male. It's okay that my original owner gave me up, because I like my new foster home. I was living on tree rats and birds that I could catch in my backyard! Now, I am on a special Westie Diet, to help with my skin issues (I was loaded with ticks and fleas) with lots of good ingredients....and I eat my whole bowl. I am learning to sleep in a crate, walk on a leash well, and house manners. At first when I came I thought my 'new' name was....."No, no outside!!!" I am a very loving male, but like my free time to explore the backyard. I chase cats up trees and if given a chance will corner them.....darn I like that game, but my foster Mom says that isn't nice! New house, new rules! I am altered, have some skin issues but am responding to medicated baths and my dry brittle coat is growing back with nice healthy fur. I have had all of my shots, including rabies. I am playing with the other Westies that live here too. I like to sun myself on the patio, am very alert to my surroundings. But I can be protective of my treats and my food bowl. Well shoot....if you lived on tree rats and birds you would be protective of your food bowl too!
