Alexis with new buddy Lucy (a Scottie) and Dempsey & Patti

I am a very sweet, spayed female around the age of 2-3 years. I am the daughter of Blake (another rescue) and was in the same household. I was not trained as a young doggie, to have house manners.....so I am now learning crate training, housetraining, to not be afraid of water (garden hoses, any type of water) and grooming (which was never done). My foster Mom says that it is important to be put on the grooming table each day, talked to in a low kind voice and brushed to let me know that it's alright and I won't be hurt. I am beginning to trust my foster Mom. But I still am scared because of past teasing from kids at my former owners house. I came with ticks and fleas all over me. It took 4 hours to try bathe, dry and clipper my coat before I could have the ticks removed from all over me. As my father, Blake, I existed on tree rats and birds that I caught in the bird bath. I am a real good hunter and will follow a scent while on my many walks. I would scale the ivy covered fence and get out about every month. The dog catcher would pick me up and take me to the pound. Finally, rather than fix the fence, my owner just turned me in to the shelter. I have been spayed, have all my shots, including rabies, am on the Westie Diet and have some grooming issues (which I am working on with my foster Mom.....I like her!). I like to set in her lap and have my tummy rubbed, I actually will go to sleep like that. I give 'free' kisses and am generally an outgoing lively young dog. My foster Mom says that I am very sweet and gentle once I trust you. I really like women!
