YADA, YADA, YADA......

People keep talk'n about this wonderful boy! Owner surrender couldn't afford to care for him properly. This 3 yr old male, had been altered/neutered, and in need of immediate medical intervention. Our volunteer didn't stop after picking him up, went directly to the awaiting Vet's office.

Yada smelled, was miserable and owner stated had been rubbing his ears against the stucco wall. They were bleeding, scabbed and so infected both were totally closed. The ear infections internalized in the form of Staph. Oozing sores all over his body, feet and pads were swollen, red and twice their size. After his medical visit and started medication, our wonderful network of volunteers transported him to an experienced foster volunteer who deals with skin issues. He is receiving antibiotics, getting daily medical baths with blow dries, and ears meds. Viola, just a little TLC and he is doing well and responding great. He has a spring to his step again, and actually can do something other than licking and scratching himself raw. We certainly credit the change in part to changing his diet to The Westie Diet - find the recipe here, he 'woofs' it down.

He now has all vaccinations (Rabies-3 yr, DHPP, Bordetella),skin so much better were able to get a microchip and be wormed. Loves walking on leash, rides in a car well, even likes the Vet office and riding in the shopping cart at the local pet food store. Previous owners must have tried to drowned him, because he really hated the bath, but has grown used to the gentle scrub brush and setting with the medicated shampoo suds. Loves the blow dryer (maybe it is the good boy treats....teehee!). Very mellow, gets along with both the male and female Westies in foster care, sleeps in a crate all night, sunning in the back yard. Is good around young children, previous owner had 4 very small children. Thinks cats are a big annoyance. Also, tries to be your lap dog, at 22 lbs that might be a bit much! Now plays with toys (did not when first came....didn't feel well), shy at first but warms up. Tries to please, should be quick learner in basic obedience classes (required). Needs a totally flea free environment, monthly flea medication and daily exercise. Fenced yard would be great, but he likes to hang out where ever you are in the house, can use a doggie door. He does need daily exercise.

Hope he is your little man, he deserves the best home ever! Stop talking! Need some action.......YADA.
