Pride - adopted 04.2009

Hi there!

My Mom Karen and Dad Dirk are camera shy.  Gosh they and I are very good looking...can not understand that. Well, I have landed in a wonderful loving home, they even are foster volunteers helping with other homeless Westies. I love them so much. Thank you for being particular, waiting for the right couple and knowing them when they applied. That is what it is all about.....right?  You bet,  PRIDE

Oops, Dog Under Construction Here Folks...

Kinda pitiful, yep that's me. Definitely in need of some basic TLC. Unfortunately, this is me after living in a barn for years. Pretty sad huh? Well these kind Westie Rescue of CA folks are caring for the head skull gash from ear to ear made when run over by a car backing up. My elderly owner died when was young, am 5 yrs now, so family took me in....well kind of...since I wasn't house trained nor socialized guess the barn was the only option? Not ALL family members liked dogs so out with the horses for me. Arrived, or should say scooped up and rescued, wearing my 'horse blanket' . Got cold in the barn.

Well since being rescued, staying with a caring Foster Mom, receiving medicated baths and blow dried, on antibiotics for major ear infections (both), went to the Vet to have that skull/head gash checked, vaccinations updated and wormed. Love my Foster home, have my very own crate, warm blanket and am now on the best food..The Westie Diet. Beats horse oat spillage and dry kibble. Get to go on long walks, which I love and my Foster Mom says I walk well on leash. They have a doggie door to a beautiful back yard and flower garden.....wow, so this is what suburbia is....sign me up! Even have a big basket of toys, other Westies to play with and get to ride in the car too! Life is definitely looking up.

My skin, licking and itching are so much better, and my ears are responding to the medication. Kinda like all the attention.....well except for the nail trimming thing! But got a treat afterwords....so bribe me again!

Need that really special caring, loving home....you know 'one in a million' cause been through a lot in my short life. Will you promise to love me? My Foster Mom will take better photos, she promises, to show just how cute I 'could be'. Can dogs get 'hair extensions'? Anyway, looking for a loving family, with older kids 10+ yrs, experienced Terrier home, willing to continue crate and house training. Oh, yeah....we could go to basic obedience training, kinda Terrier bossy and stubborn. Love attention, tummy rubs (now feeling better and trusting again). Could I interest you in loving me? Please be my forever home, just want one of my very own.

My name was changed to give me something that was missing in my life...PRIDE.

Rehabilitation in these situations is costly, if you are able to donate, we sincerely appreciate it.
