Hanson

A big howdy from HANSON....
Yep, this little darling was a shelter rescue, owner surrender, throw away. Can you imagine? Who could give up such a precious Westie? He is obviously purebred, but owner surrendered, matted condition and unaltered. So, a nice WESTIE RESCUE OF CA volunteer went down after work and bailed him out.
Went immediately to our wonderful Vet, for neutering, vaccinations (Rabies-3 yr, DHPP, Bordetella), worming, flea medication and microchip. He weights 16 lbs and estimated age is 4 yrs. After all of that he headed for our foster care volunteer home to settle in.
Diet was changed to The Westie Diet, which helped obvious poor condition of coat and his dull dry fur. Our foster Dad groomed him, trying carefully to comb the mats out rather than having to shave him. Was able to save most of his fur. It was obvious no one had brushed nor combed him previously. Good in the bath, but the blow dryer was something new! Learned to walk on a leash and seems to enjoy walks outdoors. Loves to play chase with balls and toys.
Adoptive family should plan on attending obedience classes to reinforce what he has learned. He needs daily exercise and play. Very smart learned lots since in foster care. Now crate and house trained, rides in car well but alas, should not go to doggie parks (off leash). This is where obedience training comes in handy, he wants to boss all the doggies at the park. He needs to be the one and only dog in residence, cause he is not willing to share owner. Wants all the attention for himself and owner's petting time. Gets along with people, kids, cats and dogs when out walking....just doesn't want owner to bring any of them home! Are you the family for this darling Westie boy? Well, get in your application quickly.
I'll just wait by the front door, so I won't miss you, HANSON.
