Dwight

Update on Dwight -- now called Stanley!

Stanley aka Dwight

November 2009

Hello Bridget (my foster Mom) and Westie Rescue:

It been to long since caught you up on our Stanley. He truly is the center of our life. He goes everywhere with Mom. And yes, he does sleep on the foot of our bed.

Our day begins with making my coffee while Stan stands by the cupboard waiting for his Vitamin. Then reading the newspaper while Stan takes his morning sun nap. After waking from his brief nap, he lets me know it's time to go out. Stan doesn't like to go out too early, we go for a 30-40 minute walk.  He also lets me know when 'WE' are done, so for home we head.  That's when Stan sits by his bowl and waits for breakfast (The Westie Diet). He licks the bowl clean....yummy!

When Dad gets home he goes crazy, jumping and then gets his ball, throws it up and catches it himself.  Then takes off running laps around the dinning room table and finally surrendering to lots of tummy rubs and love from Dad.

We are wishing you, your family and the families of Westies everywhere a wonderful Holiday Season.

Bob, Katie and Stanley

Well, the meet and greet went as well as could possibly be expected! Katie and Bob are in love with their new little guy, Stanley. While we were talking and reviewing the paperwork, Stanley/Max/Dwight was a little angel and just kept looking at me as if to ask why this new lady was holding him and loving him? But he seemed to understand the whole process because when they loaded up their vehicle with the food, Stanley turned and started toward their car as if he was saying, I'm ready to go to my new home! Katie emailed me saying that he is doing really well, sleeping and eating and they are certain he is the dog for them and want to adopt him!

Original Story Below

Howdy, Westie folks I am DWIGHT...

A nice lady volunteer came and adopted me from the shelter. I had been there for almost a month, my owner never came looking. My Foster Mom promises I will get a home once again that will always keep me. Found wandering the streets, but in good shape, no chip, collar or people lookin' for this darling male, altered, estimated 3-4 yr old Westie.

He has been neutered/altered, given shots (Rabies-1yr, DHPP, Bordetella), wormed, microchipped and pronounced healthy! Loves rides in the car, will hop in as soon as you open the door. Sleeps in his crate/kennel each night, while he is recouping from his surgery and the 'no jumping' rule. Enjoys company of the other Westies and one want-to-be in foster home. Walks on a leash, watches TV, likes tummy rubs and generally is a well mannered house mate. Applicants should have a fenced yard or able to give daily walks and exercise, another well mannered dog in home would be acceptable. Likes sunning on the deck and has mastered the doggie door. If you are seriously looking for a little 'love bucket' ..Dwight's your man! Complete and mail our application from the website (only). I'll be here waiting with my Foster Folks, till they tell me I have a forever home.

Happy Tail Wags, DWIGHT.
