BETSEY now Teddie - Adopted October 2009

Betsey now Teddie with Cindy

My new Mom, Cindy is the BEST!  She loves me so much; she's very patient with my exploring this 'new' world. I now can walk up and down stairs (who knew!), love sleeping with her in the bed (tehe) and the walks (a little longer each time). We go for rides in the car and she talks to me.....aaah, I pretend to understand but have that 'listening look' down really good. Thank you for rescuing me and giving me a wonderful life. There is a person I haven't met yet—Santa—he brings treats and toys. I like him already.
Licks and lots of love, Teddie

I was rescued from a High Desert Puppy Mill...

My new identity...BETSEY...

Yep, I was one of 9 rescued! The kind folks from Westie Rescue of CA, started at daylight with a van, full of 9 empty crates. They filled the crates with 9 of us and took off before the man changed his mind! Yahoo!!! Living large for the first time in my short life!

Here's what they know so far, am a cute purebred, female, Westie, just spayed, DOB 05/26/2005. While under for spaying, had a small grape sized mammary tumor removed too. My eyes were diagnosed with dry eye, but I have drops for that. They are responding great. Condition may correct itself, with proper care. I'm still very scared and unsure of human contact, see never had it previously. Getting much better and becoming trusting each day. Sometimes my foster Mom will look for me and I have gone to sleep in my kennel/crate. Makes me feel safe. Like riding in the car, in crate/kennel, have mastered the electric doggie door here in foster care and really like the great new The Westie Diet (get the recipe). Had a follow up visit for ear condition, arrived with bad ears, almost shut. They tried topical and oral antibiotics and ears didn't respond. So, from a knowledgeable rescue friendly Vet, got special ear medication (B-T-K). Can't be bathed or shampooed for 2-3 weeks (ears and head only). If I can hear better, that's great by me!

Need a VERY CALM, non-noisy home, with a fenced back yard. Retired couple that could give lap time I love? Not a clue what toys are, but my foster Mom keeps hoping will learn to play soon. Could I apply to be your little Princess? Hey I deserve it after all I have been through. Get in your application soon, cause would like to be in my forever home soon. Huh, can't adopt now? Well then donate to continue the good work these folks do. Here is the website link to Donate. Sign me happy to be anywhere.....BETSEY.
