SAMANTHA ( now Sammi )

Sammi aka Samantha 081608

Thanks to all volunteers, but especially my excellent Foster Mom and Pops, Diane and Coy. Learned so much, at their home and with their four pack brood! My forever home is wonderful! Here's a picture of Mary Anne, my excellent new Mom, holding me (ain't my leash pretty) and my Dad, Jerry holding my new, fun, Westie brother, Beau. Yahoo!

Ya gave me a buddy to play with! Won't forget ya promised, all your volunteers along the way said....we'll make it happen. You gave me the best gift ever! Hey I AM a believer and viola it did! Grateful to all the volunteers, especially the special ones named Larry and Liz, who scooped me up (gave me my pretty name....in memory of their first Westie), got me away from the pet shop and brought me to the arms of Westie Rescue of CA. Bless you all, I am floating (yep, sprouted wings no less!), not that my forever Mom, Mary Anne notices, you understand! Giggle....paws to ya, SAMMI

Original Story Below

Hi Westie Luvs....SAMANTHA here...

I am a purebred Westie, altered, active female puppy. My birthday is 10/26/2007. I was was saved by some nice people who care about my breed and given to Westie Rescue. Sigh.....finally, I have some freedom. See, I came from one of those puppy farms, was sold to a pet broker and landed in a pet shop. But, from the time I got there (Holiday Season) I was sick. II was being treated, but being reinfected by the other dogs there as well. Thank goodness for kind animal friendly folks who saved the day....or little me! I stayed in the Veterinarians hospital area until I was pronounced 'well and delightful'. So, after my spay/altering, am in a great foster care home, with 3 other Westies and one wanta-be-Westie. I am having the time of my life, racing around their yard, chasing and being chased. I use the doggie door and absolutely love the outside. But I do like to curl up on the couch and watch Animal Planet with my foster home mates! Gosh, my first time out of the pet shop, I didn't know what to think of grass pricking my feet. Tried to shake it off my feet. Even leaves scared me! Well I got over that and now love rolling and romping with everyone else.

I can walk on leash pretty well, but I will still need to go to obedience classes with my new forever family. Sleep all night in my crate without an accident. I love my new food, The Westie Diet and I am getting fed two times per day at the moment. I was under-weight when I came into the program. They promise to find me a great home real soon. I have my puppy shots (Rabies-1 yr, DHPP, Bordetella), been wormed and microchipped.

I want a home, with a fenced yard and a family with lots of time to play. If you don't have a yard, then off to the park we should go. Have a ball, will teach you to throw. Well, you don't actually think I am going to bring it back do ya? Silly, I am a Terr-ior not a Retriever. I love just everybody we meet on walks and all the neighbors who come see me. Interested??? Get that application in really fast. I like it here but I want my own family to love.....have lots to share.

Can I share my love with you? Wags and wiggles, ... SAMANTHA
