Doogie (now Rudy)

2009 Update....
Aaah, summer fun at the beach!

Doogie-Rudy

Doogie - Rudy

Here are photos of my happy family Nicole and Todd (that's Mom and Dad to me) and me at the beach. I absolutely loved running into the waves and coming back out.....so maybe I'll ask Santa-Paws for a surfboard? Okay, that's a little 'overboard'. Thanks for finding me a great active family, Love and Licks, Rudy (formerly Doogie)

Hey Westie Rescue,

Just wanted to give you a heads up. My new Forever family is Great. My Mom Nicole and Dad Todd even took me to the beach a couple of times. What a great place, they let me run around and I found all kinds of new things to sea (if you get my drift) & sniff.

Anyway, thanks again for finding me a great Forever Family !

Keep up the Wonderful work you do!........ Rudy

Original Story Below

..just named DOOGIE...

Boy am I glad I landed in these kind folks loving hands. Whew! See they got me out of a high kill shelter. Dumped me off at the shelter counter in terrible condition covered with ticks, fleas AND foxtails! So, many ticks..they stopped counting at 40's! I am on the mend in a wonderful foster home with two other females and a male Westie.

They think am a purebred, just altered/neutered male, between 3-5 years old. Have microchip, shots (Rabies-3 yr, DHPP, Bordetella), on heartworm and flea/tick monthly medications. Giardia test-negative and was wormed. Guess that about covers the medical part.....now on about me!

I like my crate/kennel and sleep there all night...upside down. Can successfully walk on leash well along side of the other Westies. Love outside walks, exercise, like smelling everything along the way; meeting new people and their dogs too. Once I figured out the doggie door flap thing; housetraining was a snap. My foster Mom says am a sweet fella that would like nothing better than to curl up next to you on the couch and watch Animal Planet. She says something about a 'Love Bucket'. Was under weight; but now improved on the delicious Westie Diet yum, yum! Like car rides, in my special doggie car seat and for the most part, am an easy housemate, shy at first, but warm up fairly quickly.

My perfect adoptive family should be calm, no small children (under 9 yr), AND they need time and energy to give me daily walks and throw the ball. Personally, would like my own fenced back yard where I can romp, play and sun most days. So, do I sound like the one for you? I hope so, cause my short life thus far hasn't been the best. I trust these folks will find me a great home. Promise to love you, if you promise to do the same. Guess that is a 'ditto wish'. So, get in your application (download from our website) and ask for me! I'll collect my toys, ball, new leash and collar...okay?

Wait'n with tail wag'n, DOOGIE.
