Don't ya love it!!!! I came in with a male named PAT. He has been adopted by a wonderful home.
Update: 06.2008.....
Vanna will remain in our long term foster care program due to her diagnosed medical problems. She has been diagnosed with Westie Lung Disease which make the additional two tumor removal not possible. Please help us with her medical care. She is a wonderful dog who deserves the best care available until she goes to The Rainbow Bridge.t Thank you for reading her story.
Previous story.....Just a little background story, you would say I was loved, but couldn't stay with Dad any longer cause Mom died unexpectedly. Dad felt he could not care for me after Mom passed, had to leave me alone with no outside access for too long daily. So the kind folks here at Westie Rescue of CA.... put together a great Westie transport team to get me and PAT down to Southern California. Certainly thank all the volunteers who made up the WESTIE Transport Team on this urgent release situation. Didn't mind transferring a total of five times during the very long transport day. Kinda liked the excitement and everyone was so nice. Actually, took 'cat naps' while in the car. Loved riding in the car. Here at my foster Mom's I have a 'Lookout Seat' that I am strapped into while in the car. She takes me with her on errands. One day actually went into a store that had lots of dog treats and toys...something called a 'pet store'. I liked that place!!!
I got an extreme Westie grooming make-over, now I am back to being a cute, altered female Westie again. I even have a fancy bow on my new pretty collar....cause "I'm special", says my foster Mum. I really like her, I give her kisses whenever I can.
My previous owners didn't keep up with medical care in recent years, but Westie Rescue of CA got all my shots renewed (Rabies-3yr, DHLPP, Bordetella, Corona), got a heartworm test (neg) and on Frontline-Plus monthly too. I now have a microchip and my teeth were cleaned too. Gosh, I had to have five teeth pulled, but don't worry I can still find my dinner bowl! I am crate trained, like sleeping in either my individual crate or if you will lift me up...on your bed. Well, actually I am a pillow girl really! I walk great on a leash, but kinda like to smell and investigate everything along the way. I take 2-3 long walks daily with the male and female Westies here. I like eating the Westie Diet (see our website for recipe). I am house trained and can use the doggie door, but prefer 'you' open the patio slider. Okay, so I AM a princess! I like to lounge in my crate or a doggie bed or on the deck in the sun, but am always up to see who is at the doorbell, or why the other Westies are barking outside. I like my daily tummy rubs, am not a barker and will give free kisses. I am a happy little girl, now I am on a regular schedule with walks and eating. I am not so interested in toys, but will chase a ball....bringing it back is another thing! I came with a really bad bladder infection, that cleared up with two rounds of strong antibiotics. That wasn't good, I didn't feel good. But I am all better now, back to my romping and playing. Anyway, I always come to get you so you can let me out when I have to go outside. I can go up and down stairs all by myself. So, listen if you are interested, complete an application and get it in right away.
Just sign me .....VA VA VOOM.....VANNA
