DANA

Hey, take a look at the new improved me.  Yes, it's me Dana!!!

Amazing what a little TLC and the Westie diet can do for a girl.  I am still growing out, but my coat and skin are just beautiful.  I am a happy girl - love my squeaky toys, long walks in the park, and riding in the car.  I am 100% housetrained and can use the doggie door.  The vet says that I am a very healthy girl and I have all my shots  Are you my special forever family?

I am waiting here patiently and gratefully!!!  Love Dana

Original Story Below

DANA....is my new pretty name

These most kind folks at Westie Rescue of CA pulled me from a high kill shelter. I was found wandering the streets with a chewed ended rope around my neck. I was scared and in pretty bad shape. My owner obviously didn't love me enough to take care of me. I waited for my owner, but they never came. The shelter even knew who my owner was by my microchip, but they abandoned me. And, because I had skin problems from my owner's lack of care, no new family wanted me either. Lot's of people came to the shelter and looked, but their eyes would look immediately away/ It was very sad cause I wanted a home again.

Guess that didn't matter to these kind rescue folks, who took me immediately to their Veterinarian. I was a really, really sick so the Veterinarian kept me in quarantine. I got lots of attention and the right medications to make me better. I was able to come to my adoptive home, where I am being loved and taken care of properly. My foster Mom promises to take photos and post them. Right now I hardly have any fur. So, the photos are; me in my comfy P.J.'s. I get to go to the park daily with my Foster Parents. These folks know how to make a bowl of chow.....I get The Westie Diet (on our website)...oooh, I really like it ! My Foster Parents say it will help my skin, fur and make me healthy again. Of course there are antibiotics, and medicated baths which help too. I am not scratching or biting at myself any longer since I am here in foster care. I want to get better and join the other 'placed rescues' in my own loving adoptive family. But, I am not quite ready yet.

Here's what they know about me so far; my age is around 2 years, altered, shots (Rabies-1 yr, DHLPP, Bordetella) and a microchip. I have had puppies somewhere along the way. And my skin condition is very treatable. And ya know what I think these folks can make me healthy and beautiful again. At least I am out of the shelter, have heat, blankets to snuggle in, food in my tummy and life is looking up. They actually pick me up and hold me too....I kinda like that part! You know if you would like to send a donation to help with the cost of my medical expenses and rehabilitation care......I know that would help.

I will just wait, til they tell me they have found my forever home!
