Madison

Let us introduce MADISON

This purebred female Westie was owned by a single older woman, purchased her as a puppy and a companion for her other female Westie. She was loved greatly, perhaps even spoiled. Unfortunately, the owner developed Dementia for many years prior to her family stepping in and placing their Mother in a Dementia Care Facility. The facility allowed visitation of the dog, they just could not live with the owner any longer. A family friend was to 'care' for MADISON, however that term might be a over stretch. One of the dogs became gravely ill and was hospitalized then the family friend declined to help with their 'care' any more.

So, Westie Rescue of California and 7 Western States was contacted by the owner's family and MADISON was rescued. She is current on her vaccinations (Rabies-3 yr., DHPP, Bordetella), has been wormed and has a transferable microchip. Our foster volunteer reports she loves to go on walks, ride in the car and is good around both male and female dogs. She is house and crate trained, has no problem being left alone in the house, Madison cuddles and likes playing with squeaky stuffed animals. She does not show aggressive behaviors, but can bark at the doorbell or unfamiliar sounds within a new place initially. As all Terriers, she knows basic obedience commands but chooses 'when' she would like to show them to you!

She will do well in a retired or home office single or couple. She has not been in a home with loud noises or high activity, so no children under the age of 10 years old. Her diet has been changed to The Westie Diet (see our website for the recipe) and she loves it! No skin issues currently. Our ideal adoptive home will have a fenced yard, a way to exercise her daily, is Terrier knowledgeable is comfortable taking her to basic obedience classes and willing to continue to feed The Westie Diet. Does this little darling sound like she is waiting just for YOU ? Well then get in your application, found on our website. She will not be in rescue for very long as she is a real charmer! Just be here at the door waiting for you to take my leash and take me home........MADISON
