KELLAN

KELLAN

Kellan   Kellan

HI EVERYBODY.....MY NAME IS KELLAN......

I know you are in love already. Boy that was easy on my part!!!! I am a darling purebred female Westie puppy. My beginning was not all that great. See these fine folks got an emergency telephone call from a county shelter. Oh, no!!! They had two remaining alive Parvo positive 7-8 week old puppies and they needed immediate help. Obviously the shelter could not keep them and risk the highly contagious virus infection of all the shelter dogs.

What were we to do; one of our foster volunteers - who didn't have any other dogs in her home, literally JUMPED in her car and headed out for the 2.5 hour one way drive to the shelter. She picked up the 2 remaining puppies (there were 5 in the litter initially-the others passed due to Parvo virus) and headed home. Arrived home around 10pm, made the little ones as comfortable as possible for the night.

We named them, KELLAN and her sister KADEN were taken the very next morning to the Veterinarian who immediately placed them in ICU hospitalization. We could only watch as they fought very hard, the Veterinarians and hospital staff did everything possible to save them both. Unfortunately, after a very long ICU stay, wonderful round the clock care and a courageous fight, KADEN passed on to The Rainbow Bridge. But KELLAN is alive, well and now is available for adoption. We are looking for just the right and special home for this very, very special girl.

KELLAN now estimated DOB 12.25.13 is well, has gone to our Vet for puppy vaccinations given in a 4 part spaced series. By the time adopted, all puppy shots; DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies-1 year will have been done. She has a transferable microchip and was wormed in appropriate intervals via puppy protocol. She is crate trained and sleeps all night without a whine. Likes car rides and even rode in an enclosed dogie stroller walk without a problem.. Loves to snuggle, gives kisses, working on handling her feet, nails, mouth, ears all good for future health examinations and life long grooming. Gladly rolls over and allows tummy scratches. Coat appears hard and the fly away puppy fur has been hand stripped (removed -pulled out) allowing new growth.

Currently within WRCA foster volunteer's home, she romps and plays with both female and male adult Westies. They are careful of her due to her being a 'puppy' but she is getting away with murder! She steals their toys, instigates the 'catch me if you can' running through the house, she tugs on ears, tails, back legs all of which is tolerated by the adult Westies.

Has learned to use the potty pad in her x-pen area provided and is on a strict schedule of feeding and potty training. Foster Mum has taught her to walk on harness leash. Way too cute! Loves toys and has boundless puppy energy. The foster home is working on 'No Bark' as has discovered, receives attention if she barks, no conception of good or bad attention yet! Still learning.......

We are seeking a Terrier and/or Westie knowledgeable loving home. One who is willing to continue ALL her training; house, obedience and manners. She is required to be spay, no title will pass until that is completed. Plus, take her and graduate from a basic obedience class. We need a 'hands-on' adoptive family, no very small kids 8 years or under. Request adoptive family scheduled and maintain daily exercise deferring to 'on-leash' training. Must feed The Westie Diet through the stages of her life. Recipe and ingredients available on our website.

Adoptive home could have another Westie which is welcoming of a VERY ACTIVE puppy. Probably not a Senior or health challenged Westie is better for them. So, if you are interested in our great KELLAN get in your application from our website.

We'll have the white blur...in a 'sit stay position' waiting for you! ...yeah right!!!! Get in that application very soon. KELLAN is waiting for his loving and forever home. XOXO KELLAN.
