ZEUS...

My owners surrendered me....their supposed 'baby', how could they? Thought I was their 'little man' and 'love bug'....huh, guess not so much. The same young couple who were so excited to buy me from a nationally recognized Westie breeder (top winning Westies, shows at The Garden-Westminister) but, alas, then came those noisey, poking, proding two kidos. Yikes...Mom make them behave !!!! Huh, this roughness was something I was not used to..certainly. They always before had time for tummy rubs, park romps, long walks and taking excellent care of me. Well, things change, as I now know.

My breeder callled Westie Rescue of CA & 7 Western States ask to please put me in their program. Whew! When the owner brought me to the WRCA volunteer, it was immediately apparent I had major untreated skin issues, toenails about 3/4 inch longer than acceptable and no veterinarian care for awhile. Yes, I came in their program as a real big mess!!!

Have been in foster care for over 6 months, many medicated baths, immediate change of diet to their wonderful— The Westie Diet....(check their website for the recipe and additional infomation regarding protocol for skin issues in any breed). Voila....just look at me now. Back to my beautiful self!

I now have my vaccinations (Rabies-3 yrs., DHPP, Bordetella), wormed, and microchip. I'm a wonderful housemate, currently living with a female Westie in my foster home (we play chase in the house), love toys, like taking walks, absolutely LOVE going in the car (even on errands....don't care), use a doggie door, often sleep upsidedown. My Foster Mom says I snore just a little too. What? Can't prove it by me!!!! House and crate trained, fur re-growth has been amazing, now healthy, active, gives kisses, loves tummy rubs, knows obedience commands (sit, stay, waiting, down, come, leave-it). So my new forever digs (no pun intended for us Terriers), there should be NO small kids or cats. I have a high 'prey drive'. Okay, my report card says this about Cats....."doesn't work and play well with the darn things!"

Are you thinking I am the cutie pie who could join your family? Well get in your application. I have a squeaky toy and am waiting out on the deck in the sun, just chill'n......ZEUS.
