 Andrew  Andrew too

Hello Everyone, I’m ANDREW

My elderly owner was in poor health for a number of years. A neighbor checking on her welfare one morning, found her in bed where she had passed during the night. Oh, no…..what will become of us? Will we lose the only home we have known? Well, the Coroner was called and so was Animal Control and we (2 females and me) ended up in this scary place called a ‘shelter’ with lots of barking dogs, different food and nothing we recognized.  Yikes!  Thank goodness the Estate’s attorney and Westie Rescue of CA & 7 Western States worked very hard to get us released ASAP.  When the smiling, loving and very caring WRCA volunteer, Jennifer, came to ‘spring’ us (both females and me)…I was so excited. It was a long car ride, I sat very still in her big  SUV and looked out the window. Where was she taking me? Thankfully ended up in a wonderful foster home with a big back yard…can you say ‘Ca-ching?’. When I got out of the car….ran around the yard like I had not seen grass before.  Huh, maybe I hadn’t…it felt so good!

Now I have current vaccinations (Rabies-3 yr., DHLPP, Bordetella), have a microchip and have been wormed.  On flea product and am an AKC Registered purebred, altered/ neutered male Westie.  They believe my birthday is 05.25.2009.  Whew, got a much needed—after my shelter experience—spa treatment:  shampoo, massage and blow dry. Boy, did I feel like a different Westie. Here’s what they know about me so far: crate trained and actually like my own little space, can walk on leash well, am NOT fond of Cats, already treed the neighbor’s at my foster home. Okay… it was in my new yard. That is my job, right? Drats…sorry Cat owners, guess can’t have one in my new forever adoptive home.

Never been around small kidos, so that would not be a good choice for adoptive home either. I was raised with female and male Westies. Actually I love ‘me’ time, tummy rubs, setting on the sofa watching Animal Planet, sunning in the back yard, ya know— the good life.

So, WRCA, could I have a retired couple, someone with an ‘in home’ office maybe, with no small kids or Grandkids, who will shower me with one-on-one loving. And are good at reinforcing housetraining, taking me to an Obedience Class or two (okay 3?), might have a direct doggie door to a fenced back yard and will continue to feed The Westie Diet. Sounds like a long list, but promise I will love you lots!

My food and treat diet was changed to the healthy: The Westie Diet, Yummy!  Website Link: http://www.westierescueca.com/diet.htm . It’s great !!! Plus, I now am on a ridgid exercise routine, on leash and walking, twice daily.  Nice neighborhood where I am fostered, lotsa nice folks pet me while we are out walking. Who knew I could get this lucky in life? Seems previously I was left to my own devices daily, playing with toys, chasing cats, running around in the yard…barking at the moon! Nah!  Not really! Just kidding!!

My Foster Mom and Dad have indicated I need a Terrier experienced owner, one that won’t let me get away with my Terrier antics! What…you talking about little ole me? Okay, I get it ! No hiding treats in the couch.  So if you have fallen in love with my story and glam photos, are willing to take me and you to a couple of Obedience Training Classes, have plenty of time to walk and exercise yourself (ok and me) perhaps, just perhaps I am your man or, augh, Westie.  Get in that application if you are interested. Application link: http://www.westierescueca.com/adopting.htm. I will just wait here, sleeping upside down on my foster Mom’s leather sofa till you tell me I am going home with you. Come soon….would love to be in my new forever home to celebrate Happy New Year!

Hugs, snuggles and wags, ANDREW.
