McKenna

  McKenna   McKenna

I am new to Westie Rescue, my name is McKENNA.

My owner had dementia and was institutionalized. That left me homeless. Cause of my previous situation, I was in pretty bad shape, simply neglected. I stayed in the weeds of the back yard, not groomed, and was covered with fox-tails and to-the-skin mats. My feet were packed with fox-tails, there were 'tracks' where the fox-tails had burrowed into my skin. Thankfully am in a better place now.

I had to be shaved, but Foster Mom says my fur is beautiful and really thick (one of the problems of not brushing regularly....mats). Now I have updated vaccinations (Rabies-3 yr, DHPP, Bordetella), wormed and a transferrable microchip. I came with an undiagnosed bad bladder infection. I felt bad, even my urine had blood in it. The infection made me urinate in the house (am house trained normally), so had been banished to the back weed filled yard. Finished up the antibiotics, and took another urine test. Already feeling better and looking it too.

I love being inside in warm clean crate, sleep there all night long. Ride in a car great, never make a sound, like tummy rubs, a couple of walks per day and the sunny back yard. Toys are something I had forgotten about, but am re-visiting the fun to be had. They have a big toy basket, and I find just the right one to take into my crate to use as a pillow. Love my new diet -- The Westie Diet.

Not too familiar with young kids, but 8 yrs old or older is okay. Guess I can not have my own cat.....just too much fun to chase them! And these kind folks found out I fell out of a moving car, was injured so my back leg healed funny. Foster Mom says walk like 'Charlie Chaplin'....whatever... I can get to my food bowl just fine!

Are you my new loving home? Would like to experience the love of an owner again, I miss that, maybe share the T.V. remote to watch Animal Planet. Like those happy endings... I'm gonna have one too! I'll be dreaming of my new family, along with bones dancing in my head. So, please make my Holidays special. Open you heart and home to me.

Give ya lot's of kisses, McKENNA.
